Mission Friendship Centre Society -Womens Support Worker

The Mission Friendship Centre Society (MFCS) has been the key service provider for Urban Aboriginal population and non-Aboriginal People for over 40 years and has established a long standing  Services offered on-site are Alcohol and Drug Counseling and Referral Services, Community Health Programming, Elders Programming, Community Kitchen Connections (Daily Lunch Program), Outreach Services; Youth Programming ages 16-24, Stό:Lō Employment/Job Search programming, University of Fraser Valley upgrading program on-site, Volunteer/Mentorship/Job Shadowing opportunities, Mental Health Support, H.I.V & Aids education, Cultural Programming, and a Drop in Centre and much more. These programs include advocacy i.e. housing, educational workshops i.e. life skills, referrals to health services i.e psychiatrist or doctor, cultural workshops i.e. identity support, access to learning i.e. resume writing/tutors/access to computers, and much more. These program objectives allow individuals an opportunity to reduce multiple barriers in order to achieve their desired goals. MFCS has numerous community partners, and funding agents that support MFCS programming and this enables us to bring incredible support to our agency. It allows our membership/clients to systemically increase viability and participation in the Canadian system.
