2nd Stage Housing - Rivendell
Mission Community Services Society provides safe housing and support services at Rivendell for up to 44 men and women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The delivery of support services is guided by four principles:
Are resident focused and responsive to their changing needs
Fosters an environment where the residents’ capabilities to live successfully and independently are supported
Maintains an atmosphere of dignity and respect for all our residents
Operates in a transparent and accountable manner
The goal is to assist our residents in achieving stability which allows them to move forward with their lives. By providing housing and support in a resident-centered environment, we engage with our residents to create an atmosphere of trust.more info
Better at Home
Mission Community Services Society
Mission Better at Home provides non-medical services to assist seniors with simple day-to-day tasks so they can continue to live independently in their own homes and stay connected to their communities. Better at Home is funded by the Province of British Columbia and managed by the United Way of the Lower Mainland.more info

Dads in Gear: fathering, physical activity and quitting smoking
Dads in Gear is a program to help expecting dads and dads with children 6 and under to quit smoking, eat healthier and learn about being a good father. The program is free for participants and will run for 8 weeks this January. Diabetes Health Centre
Provide education and support to people living with diabetes, their family members and the community. Classes and individual counselling sessions address many topics including healthy eating, blood glucose testing, exercise and staying healthy while living with diabetes. For those with type 1, type 2 or gestational diabetes, or those with impaired glucose tolerance.more info
Family Development and Youth Services
An old saying “How you bend the twig is how the tree goes” reflects the mentoring and education required for youth on their journey to adulthood. Mission Community Services Society team of Youth Workers offer important intervention that can make a world of difference. Youth who have more tools in their tool box can make better life choices. A range of support is available for youth ages 13 to 24.more info
Food Centre
For as long as Mission Community Services has existed, its food centre has actively served in feeding those who are hungry. Now four decades later the centre is creating for its clients pre-made hampers, bags of food containing soup, canned fruit, vegetables and tuna, pasta and pasta sauce as staples.more info
