Nechako Youth Treatment Program

The Nechako Youth Treatment Program (NYTP) provides substance misuse management, detox and treatment, as well as mental health assessments for youth ages 13 - 18. Individual, family, and group support are also provided.

Our program represents a part of a continuum of service. We work collaboratively with the young person, with their family members and with services in their community to provide a consistent support network to help the person make meaningful, positive changes in their life.

We work hard to create a comfortable, welcoming environment where young people can feel safe and can take the time to develop new skills and awareness.

This includes working to support an after care plan so that the young person can the northern way of caring continue the work they do in our program with ongoing support systems at home.

We have an experienced and knowledgeable staff ready to guide youth in working on the problems that they face.

When a young person is referred to us their name is usually placed on our waiting list so that they can be admitted to the unit when space becomes available.

Before admission to the program it is helpful if we can be provided with as much information about the young person as possible. Work with local people to complete the referral package.

If you have any concerns regarding the admission process contact the Waitlist clinician at (250) 649-7065.
