Self-Management BC
Self-Management BC provides support for people living with chronic diseases such as diabetes, chronic pain, cancer, heart, kidney and lung diseases, arthritis, lupus, Parkinson, MS, etc. We offer:
- COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS (Diabetes, Chronic Pain, Chronic Conditions, Cancer: Thriving & Surviving) that are led by peer leaders and run for 2.5 hours for 6 weeks.
- HEALCH COACH PROGRAM that involves volunteer health coaches providing weekly 30 minutes telephone coaching for 3 – 6 months for individuals wanting to improve their confidence and motivation to become healthier. Individuals are paired with coaches based on gender and possibly shared chronic conditions.
- ONLINE WORKSHOPS (Chronic Conditions) that are flexible, self-paced, available 24/7. more info
Senior Health- HealthLinkBC
As we age, we have special health concerns. They can range from memory loss and broken hips to exercising safely. Our topics can help you learn how to lower the risk of falling in your home or how to choose a nursing home. You can learn about the physical changes caused by aging. There is plenty of information to help you stay healthy as you get older.more info
Seniors Connection - Lunch with a Bunch
Lunch With A Bunch serves up hot food and good times on the third Thursday of every month and occasionally diners are joined by a guest speaker or live entertainment. Venue is Carrington House on Seventh Ave. Start time is 11:30 am. $10 fee. Register by calling 604-826-3634.more info
Seniors Connection - Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels provides low-cost, hot, noon-time meals delivered by volunteers every Monday, Wednesday and Friday except on stat holidays. On Fridays, frozen meals are also available on order. Each meal consists of soup and crackers, entrée, salad and dessert.more info
Seniors Connection - Medical Transportation
Transportation to medical appointments are available to seniors. Screened volunteers provide transportation services from Mission to as far east as Chilliwack and as far west as Vancouver.more info

Shelter Aid for Elderly Renters (S.A.F.E.R.)
The Shelter Aid for Elderly Renters (SAFER) program helps make rents affordable for BC seniors with low to moderate incomes. SAFER provides monthly cash payments to subsidize rents for eligible BC residents who are age 60 or over and who pay rent for their homes.more info
